This project was located in the lower levels of Centre point tower and being a space which occupies 3 tenancies with a 20 metre frontage it is an anchor tenant for Westfield and also the flagship store for the New Shanghai restaurant chain. Having a long relationship with the client they brought us on because of their faith in our ability to deliver the project both on time, budget and to be able to execute a difficult design.
The project itself contains a large kitchen, secondary show kitchen, bar area, large private dining rooms and open plan seating. Being a design which incorporates old world China with authentic finishes such as cobblestones, aged finishes and reclaimed timber doors meant we needed to be at our best. The complexity of the design and tight program meant that it had to be very well managed, the design comprised huge brickwork walls with archways, metalwork features and large amounts of custom joinery, all of this coupled with delicate finishes such as wallpaper and aged plaster/paint resulted in something very special. The end product speaks for itself with a number of news articles and multiple recognitions, its something we are very proud to be apart of.
